Spotlight on proposed Maxwell solar factory

Members of the NSW Farmers Wagga Wagga branch have expressed their concerns about a proposed ‘solar factory’ on a 300-hectare site near Maxwell.

Spanish renewable energy developer X-Elio plans to build the multi-million-dollar solar installation amid productive farms featured in this video.

NSW Farmers member and local farmer Michael Roche took part to help build a broader understanding into some of the impacts on agriculture, the environment and regional communities.

“We are supportive of renewable energy and solar, but we feel there needs to be much better planning and structures in place,” Michael said.
