International Day for Rural Women
NSW Young Farmers deputy chair Charlotte Groves helped celebrate the UN International Day for Rural Women on Saturday 15th October.
It’s a special day to celebrate rural women from all walks of life, all over the world, whether on the land or in the town, and the pivotal role they play in sustaining their rural communities.
Here in NSW, there are so many wonderful women supporting agriculture and the regions, whether it be on farm, research and development, marketing or leading the charge with local community groups.
NSW Farmers Association proudly boasts a strong contingent of women helping to advance local food and fibre production and rural communities. There are 29 rural women on our policy committees, including 4 members on the Young Farmers Council and three Board members.
